Health Certificates written for dogs, cats, and ferrets sold within the state of Florida
- Health Certificates are required for sale of all dogs, cats, and ferrets within the state of Florida
- Dogs must be at least 8 weeks of age, receive the Distemper-Hepatitis-Parvovirus-Parainfluenza vaccine, receive the Bordetella vaccine, have a fecal parasite examination performed which must be negative (no ova or parasites seen), have an examination performed by a veterinarian who is authorized to write health certificates in Florida, and receive a broad spectrum dewormer. Pending the age of the dog, a Leptospirosis vaccine may be required. All dogs over 12 weeks of age, will be required to receive a rabies vaccine.
- Cats must be at least 8 weeks of age, receive the Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calici virus, Panleukopenia vaccine, have a fecal parasite examination performed which must be negative (no ova or parasites seen), have a feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency test performed which must be negative for both conditions, have an examination performed by a veterinarian who is authorized to write health certificates in Florida, and receive a broad spectrum dewormer. All cats over 12 weeks of age, will be required to receive a rabies vaccine.
