What to Expect

To keep our appointments as interactive as possible while maintaining the highest levels of safety, we have transformed our lobby into an exam room. Dr. Marsigliano will communicate with you via phone as you watch your furry family member through our large picture window.

When you arrive please call the front desk; one of our technicians will ask several questions about your pet’s medical history prior to bringing your pet into the building. They will then bring your pet into the office while you remain outside.

1

Prior To Your Visit

it is important to make a copy of all of your pet’s medications and/or supplements. It is also important to have received a copy of not only your vaccination records but a copy of any pertinent medical history as to be able to show the veterinarian on staff the day that your pet goes in for evaluation. Having this information will let the veterinarian know what has been tried in the past with your little family member.
2

Preventative Care History

If you are unable to get a copy of your preventative care history (vaccinations, annual labs) or a copy of your pet’s full medical history, please have a member of Intracoastal West reach out to your previous veterinarian(s) so that your pet can be fully evaluated during the visit. Having us call prior to your visit will ensure that your appointment runs smoothly.
3

Physical Exam

Our technicians will collect initial history over the phone then come out and bring your pet into the building. Our Veterinarian will meet you over the phone through the front window, examine your pet, and talk about your concerns as well as her exam findings. Dr. Marsigliano will then discuss her recommendations for diagnostic tests and/or treatments as needed.
4

Tests & Treatments

Any recommended diagnostic tests (i.e. blood work) and treatments will be performed after your discussion with our Veterinarian. Some test results may be available during your appointment time while others will be completed by an outside lab. Our staff will let you know when to expect test results.
5

Follow-Up

Depending on the reason for your visit, you may expect a follow-up call from one of our veterinary technicians to get an update on how your pet has been doing since their visit. If you have any concerns, talk to the technician about those concerns so that the doctor can make recommendations.
